Welcome Wildcats, to Spooky Season 2023! ‘Tis the season for some questionable choices in Halloween costumes. While so many last year were so creative, some were absolutely hilarious, but some were so god awful they deserve a spot on the publication of shame: Clown Corner.

Starting off strong is the ever basic and ever boring space cowgirls, which took the world by storm as groups of girls all donned sparkly cowboy hats, crop tops, and cowboy boots. In all honesty, they could have just labeled it “bedazzled cowgirls” and it would have been so much, but tying in two polar opposite topics in some shiny glitter and rhinestones seems a little chaotic.

A more common theme is a complete lack of costume, which honestly defeats the entire purpose of Halloween. Getting in a costume, hanging out with your friends while you walk until your feet are sore is such a core piece to this time of year. Although you can do the last bit with no costume, where’s the fun in that? It completely destroys the very nature of this season, and you honestly look a little stupid walking around saying “I’m just being myself this year.”

Heed my advice and please be creative with your costumes in the future. Some people could and would absolutely kill it with their creativity, but doing the bare minimum for one of the most fun times of the year is so bland and boring. All that anyone who enjoys the spooky season is begging and praying that you do something, anything to get yourself all wrapped up in one of, if not the best time of year.
