Sugar:
The perfect medium between the blaring heat and the cruel winter. Fall. The only time of year when the color palette of our environment is flipped upside down, and the air becomes so crisp it could snap. Halloween resides in this magical season, and its spooky atmosphere coincides perfectly with the ominous mists of dusk.
You finally get to start unveiling your chunky sweaters hidden in the back of your closet and bring out your boots from the basement. The fall style is unmatched by any other season. You have so many more options since the weather is finally starting to cool off. You can go outside in jeans and not come home drenched in sweat.
Say goodbye to the sticky summer, for autumn is here. You’ll finally be able to sleep comfortably under that thick blanket you’ve been forcing yourself under during the heat of the summer. It’s time to get cozy and eat some warm apple cider donuts with apple cider to wash it all down.
Pumpkin patches replace swimming pools, for now, comes the time for carving jack-o-lanterns, spilling pumpkin guts all over the kitchen floor. While you’re carving pumpkins, a scary movie or “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” might be playing in the background.
The stress of the new school year is smothered by all the wonders of fall; it’s beauty, it’s fun, and it’s memories.
Spice:
We all enjoy our summer months. Time in the sun, outside, shorts and tank tops. Whether you spend your time in your backyard, on vacation, or walking around town, there’s always something to do.
Fall, however, marks the end of the summer. The start of school, which we all can agree, is not something to look forward to, happens at the very beginning of the fall. We all are forced to spend our time inside of stuffy classrooms and take classes we find boring.
The fall season brings cold weather, as well. Say goodbye to the shorts and skirts and flip-flops. You won’t be able to wear those in the fall. Instead, the options are itchy sweaters and jackets you have to carry around school.
The seasonal drinks have been a staple in the image of fall since the creation of the pumpkin spice latte. Do you mean to tell me people get genuinely excited over a drink that comes and goes every year? The hype over overpriced coffee just sounds like free marketing to me. The drink is seasonal for one reason: it’s not that good to have year-round.
Another big one is Halloween. Don’t get me wrong, Halloween is fun and all, but what most people do on Halloween is dress up in cheap costumes, go to a costume party, trick or treat (but honestly who does that anymore), or stay home and binge eat candy while watching a scary movie. Then the day is done. Plus, Halloween is not celebrated by a huge amount of people for religious reasons.
The Fall season is not all it’s cracked up to be, and the whole thing is completely overrated.
