Masjid An-Noor is the new Mosque currently under construction on 284th Avenue close to 95th street in Naperville. The first phase for this multi phase project is just the mosque offering a place of worship for daily and special prayers and will only be used for praying until the second and third phase is finished. The prayer areas can be considered large compared to other mosques. The men’s hall can hold up to 350 people, meanwhile the women’s prayer hall can hold up to 150, but there is another area for them to pray. In the basement they’re building the banquet hall that can also be used as a prayer hall for busy times like Eid or Ramadan and it can accommodate up to 800 people. When you walk through the front doors, there’s a large ring covering the inside trim of the dome with the 99 names (or attributes) of God inscribed on it.
The major construction for phase 1 is complete and they are finishing the interior work, which is expected to be complete mid-October. The opening is scheduled on October 26th. The second and third phase, which includes a private school and a banquet hall, will be done in future years. This mosque plans on being one of the most popular in the area with its large praying space and many parking spots.
