We’re all “Suckers” for the Jonas Brothers’ comeback

From watching ‘Jonas’ on Disney channel to listening to S.O.S, the Jonas Brothers were just as important as Lizzie Mcguire when growing up in the 2000s. Nick’s curly hair, Joe’s ‘Bieber’ cut, and Kevin’s guitar skills are the image that we got until 2013 when they announced their break up. While other former Disney actors carried on with their own content, the three did same but on separate paths.

2013 is when the Jonas Brothers’ have recorded their last song together. Since then, the three have been working independently. The frontman, Joe Jonas, has been touring and making music with his band, DNCE, and started a relationship with “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner. The youngest, Nick Jonas, has been doing his own solo music and recently married actress Priyanka Chopra. The oldest brother, Kevin Jonas, hasn’t been in the limelight like the other two but he has been enjoying his life with his wife and 2 daughters. But fans all over the internet were waiting for their comeback for years.

Throughout all of last year, there was a rumor that there will be Jonas Brothers’ reunion which broke the internet. Fans were two in a frenzy about when they would be coming back and prepping their tissue boxes in the meantime. On February 28th, the release about a comeback was a shock to everyone. The three remade their infamous “oh how the tables have turned” video from 2008. The Jonas Brothers’ never really promoted the song until the day of release. I, for one, freaked out because the Jonas Brothers’ have always had well-produced music, and it differed from any music that came from a Disney outlet. And once again, I was right.

“Sucker” definitely uses distinct styles from both how Joe and Nick make music. The isolated instruments and fast pop beat yells Joe because of what we’ve seen his band make. But the high falsetto notes resonate with Nick so well. The music video is what really ties in everything and shows how amazing the Jonas Brothers have been and will be. It is very overwhelming with the colors, fast clip jumps, and people, but it works really well. It starred all of the Jonas’ significant others and played with a theme of Alice in Wonderland meets the Royal Family. The Jonas’ ladies really showed a prominent role in the video by showing who’s boss and just being the beautiful women that they are. But the end of the music video where it shows all six of them posing for a painted portrait yelled ‘We are the Jonas Brothers, and yes, we are back’. I just know that thousands of other people and I have our wallets ready for an album and tour.
