The 2023 Children’s Show “The Spell of Sleeping Beauty”, has just wrapped up, and the cast absolutely started with a bang to begin this theater season.
The tale follows Princess Briar Rose (played by Grace Wallin) after she falls into a deep sleep after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel. The only thing that would wake her up is the kiss of her true love, Prince Alexander (played by Charlie Scriven-Young), who goes to great lengths to save the princess.
Camila Santana Camacho, a senior who played Lady Jessica, one of the Queen’s assistants, exclaimed how the cast has been “so welcoming and fun, and we are all like a big family who’s willing to help anyone out.”
An extremely crucial, but incredibly stressful part in the weeks leading up to the show is tech week, where all the lights, sounds, costumes, and accessories are put together to make sure the show runs as smoothly as possible. “Having to get mics, costumes, and makeup ready, as well as staying late can be really tiring, but all the hard work makes it so much more worth it” Camacho reported.
Auditions for the Winter Play “Clue: On Stage” begin on October 17th at 2:45 in Room B119.
