On Friday, September 22nd between the Sophomore and Varsity football games, the Athletic Department will welcome 4 new additions to its Athletic Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees are Broc Rutter (Football, 2015), Jessica Jones (Basketball/Volleyball, 2004), Paul Vandersteen (Boys Cross Country Coach, Retired 2023), and Jessica Yuen (Golf, 2016). These 4 are the 36th-39th athletes/coaches to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame since it’s inception back in 2016.
Broc Rutter
Football – Class of 2015
Led our team to an IHSA quarterfinal appearance in 2013, guiding the team to 16 wins in his 2 seasons as a starter, named captain, and achieved the honor of DuPage Valley All-Conference and All-Area in his high school career. At North Central College, Broc was the 2019 Gagliardi Trophy recipient (DIII Most Outstanding football player), DIII All American and NCAA D3 record holder for career passing yards (14,265) and most games with over 200 passing yards (44). Led North Central to National Championship in 2019.
Jessica Jones
Volleyball/Basketball – Class of 2004
4-year Varsity Volleyball player, 3-year Varsity Basketball player, 3rd place IHSA state finish for basketball. Played volleyball at the University of Minnesota and honored as an All-Bit Ten first team member. Played volleyball professionally and earned a spot on the United States Women’s National Team in 2011.
Jessica Yuen
Golf – Class of 2016
IHSA state champion in 2013 & 2014, IHSA 2nd place in 2012 & 2015. DuPage Valley Conference Player of the Year and IHSA All-State for all 4 years. Played for the University of Missouri and was their number 1 player for majority of her time there. Qualified twice for the NCAA Division 1 golf championship.
Paul Vanderesteen
Head Coach – Boys Cross
Country – Retired 2023
Founding Boys Cross Country Head Coach (1997-2022), led team to 8 IHSA State trophies, including 3 IHSA State Championships (2007, 2009, 2016). Nike Team National Championship in 2007. Coached NV Hall of Famer Chris Derrick, who was the individual National Champion in 2007.
