The holidays return at Starbucks
With the holiday season in full swing and the cheer that arises during this time of year fully flourishing, there is truly nothing more that screams “holidays!” unlike the iconic Starbucks holiday menu. It seems to have taken a permanent place in many people’s hands because its just that good—or is it? Well, not to fret, because we’re here to tell you exactly which drinks to get!
Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte
This, by far, is one of the best things that you will ever drink in your entire life. Managing to pack in just the right amount of sweetness and coffee, this drink reminds you of—literally—a big sugar cookie in liquid form, and will definitely keep you wanting more after you’ve had your last sip. If you ask them to add sugar cookie foam on top, too, the drink will be made even better! Plus, it comes with festive sprinkles on top! Overall, I rate this a 10/10.
Irish Cream Cold Brew
Although not exactly bad, this drink definitely doesn’t scream “holidays!” like the others and presents itself as just another drink in the endless list of Starbucks’ menu. It is not very sweet and has more of a strong coffee flavor to it, so if you really like the bitterness of coffee, this would be one for you. However, I would expect a drink catered for the holiday season to be a bit more on the sweeter side, so again, this drink did not exactly give off a holiday atmosphere. Overall, I rate this a 7/10.
Iced Chestnut Praline Latte
Personally, I liked this drink. Not too sweet, not too bitter, it brought out the flavor of the drink to a good extent while simultaneously managing to keep the flavor of the actual coffee intact. I don’t eat things with chestnuts that often so cannot say how lclose to actual chestnuts this drink tasted like, but it did, however, taste somewhat chemically at times, or not fully authentic. Overall, I rate this a 6.5 out of 10.
Toasted White Mocha Latte
If you aren’t a big fan of the taste of coffee, this drink may be for you. This winter drink brings out the toasty feeling of the holidays with the sweetness of chocolate and a caramel and whipped cream finish. Although it is similar to the regular, year-round version, the red sugar sprinkles and pearls truly create the perfect effect for this drink. Honestly, this drink tastes like a toasted marshmallow! Overall, I would rate this an 8 out of 10.
Peppermint Mocha
A true fan favorite, this holiday classic never fails to satisfy and has been one of the most popular drinks from Starbucks. Its rich flavor of espresso combined with chocolate, peppermint and whipped cream makes it the perfect drink to warm you up on a chilly, winter day. This would be a 9/10!
These holiday drinks truly bring out the toasty spirit shared around this time of year and are a delicious way to cheer up your day! If you are looking for a way to get in on the holiday fun, stop by Starbucks and get one of these winter specials, and we hope you find the perfect drink for you!
