Top ten manga for beginners

Top+ten+manga+for+beginners

Jason E Appel, Writer

If you’re looking to get into manga or looking for a good read, this list is for you. Manga is a Japanese style of comic books aimed at adults and children.  I like to read paper copies, but I also like to use MangaZone to read. Manga is generally pretty accessible, so if you search up a title, you’ll likely find a link.

  1. “The Beginning after the end”

This manga is the lowest on the list because it is relatively new and not completely finished. This manga follows the life of the late King Grey after his untimely and mysterious death. Reborn as Arthur Leywin, he seeks to correct his past mistakes in the vibrant new continent of Dicathen, a world of magic and fantastical creatures.

  1. “Corpse Party”

This manga is lower on the list because the plot is confusing (and it starts out in a side story which gets a little confusing), but after reading one or two of the mangas in this series, this book becomes a good read. It’s about these kids who get stuck in a haunted elementary school with murdered poeple, and they are trying to find their freinds and get out.

  1. “Tokyo Ghoul”

This manga is so good, but it’s harder to get into. It is a little bit of a harder read, but it’s worth it because the storyline is good and the drawings are amazing. The manga is about a world where humans and ghouls live together, and the ghouls can only eat people. But the war against the dufs “ghoul hunters”  and ghouls will change everything.

  1. “Supreme Demon”

This manga was the first one I read using an app on my phone called MangaZone. This Manga was so good; I would highly recommend it. It’s about this boy who married into this prestigious family and must grow stronger in order to bring respect to his new family and protect his wife.

  1. “Naruto”

This manga is longer being updated, but the plot points are good and easy to follow. The character building is one of the best that I have read. The art is really good, and the story just gets you so sucked in that it will make you want to finish all of the books in one day.

  1. “Attack on Titan” (AOT)

AOT is such a good Manga; the art is amazing and the story line is one of the better ones that I have read. This is a great manga, if you are just starting to read manga, AOT is for you.

  1. “Demon Slayer”

This manga has amazing writing and art. The manga is about a boy who lives during  the turn of the century In Japan, and his life changes once he gets attacked by a demon.

  1. “Seven Deadly Sins”

“Seven Deadly Sins” is one of my favorite manga; it’s a little longer, but for manga, it’s short. It’s set in Britannia. 3,000 years after the Great War, the seven deadly sins were needed to be found to help stop the Ten Commandments from taking over Britannia.

  1. “Blue Exorcist”

This manga is good, the story is about twins whose dad is Satan and their adoptive Father is an exorcist. To honor their father and keep Satan at bay, they two become exorcists. This Manga honestly does such a good job with character development.

  1. “Soul Eater”

“Soul Eater” is a great manga. The story line is about a school that teaches kids how to use their powers as weapons or meisters and to work together to become death scythes. It’s an easy read that is also exciting with amazing character development.

I hope this list helps you start or continue your Manga journey and that you enjoy some of these mangas.
